Babbling Britains
Once again I'm beginning this post with a reference to my exhaustion. Today was a more relaxed day as we had class this morning. We started out with Shakespeare then followed with Tudor Stuart history which both went really well. I sort of spaced on reading all for history but the class went surprisingly well. Afterwards, Katie, Cathy, Matt, and I went shopping (shocker) for a couple of hours before we went back to get ready for our fancy dinner in the trinity college dining hall. By far, the best food I've had. It was a three course meal that started out with an avocado and red pepper tart, then we had chicken and a green pea orzo concoction. Before dessert, we went out to toast to all of us outside with our wine before an amazing chocolate mousse dessert! It is by far the fanciest meal I've been to, plus it was nice to have everyone all dressed up and looking their best! Also, the Brits really know how to get you smashed. Not only did I start dinner with two Pimms cocktails, but I had three glasses of white wine at dinner, half a glass of red wine, and a Smirnoff ice. The latter was enjoyed at the pub, the king and arms, where our class went to drink with our professors after the meal! Plus Katie and I met a Parisian pilot named Nicolas at the bar and we communicated in French! The three of us are talking about getting together for coffee to talk in French! I love Europe!!! Everyone is so friendly here minus the random snarky salespeople. Tomorrow, we are going to Salisbury, Stone Henge, and the English Countryside with history. Dr. Ehlers, Cathy, Katie and I had a great conversation about monarchs at the bar for about an hour! Also, both Dr. Dutton and Dr. Ehlers are allergic to shellfish like I am! Great minds think alike I guess!l!! Much love to all :)
