Y'alright, Mate. Yeah?

With no better way to say it, today was beyond amazing! We woke up super super early to take a bus into stratford (shakespeare's birth place) and see the play, I Cinna, at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theater. I was a little skeptical because we heard beforehand that it was a one man show (which is scary) but the actor playing Cinna was not only very engaging, but he was also extremely talented. I will admit the program was directed at students a bit younger (interactive writing games were involved) but I'm a child at heart so I didn't mind much. Plus, I cleared some space for doodling! Before that, however, I forgot to mention that we had a tour of Shakespeare's school where he was taught as a child!! A single part of the building was constructed in the 1400s!!! Wow! Many of the beams had started to rot, but the place remains very authentic to this day! The best part besides the wooden tables/desks where all of the boys carved their names in the 1700s was getting to stand in the room WHERE SHAKESPEARE LEARNED TO WRITE AND SAW HIS FIRST EVER PRODUCTION. Despite the all caps, the amazingness still hasn't kicked in! After the play, we grabbed lunch at a fresh baguette place before hopping on the bus back to Oxford. When we got back, my friends and I  decided to go to the City Center/downtown to check out Oxford memorabilia! OH MY were we in luck. Afterwards, we went into Blackwell's poster gallery and Blackwell's bookshop where we saw FIRST EDITION COPIES of Milton, Darwin, and ancient Rome---even An original copy of PETER PAN was there---holy moly! Plus it was for sale but it was majorly expensive so we took a picture to remember it for later. Next, we stopped into a couple of more shops before going into the restaurant, Beefeaters. Not very English, right? I had the vegetable soup and 'twas delicious! Katie, Cathy, Ashley, and I all had a great time! After dinner we threw on clothes because we wanted to go out on all of the Oxford students' last night! We went to a club called Wahoo and had a GREAT time---we befriended about 7 Oxford students including a guy dressed up in a penguin costume!! It was totally wicked :) I understand why Europeans are so skinny now...too much dancing! Off to bed, mate yeah?
